The Star-Eating Barrage

Excels in: Mid-High tier content

Goal of the Build: Optimise DPS by stacking up ‘Feast of Light’ to unleash the highest burst damage Super in the game- Blade Barrage.

Mandatory Gear: A Solar Heavy Weapon is best for optimal damage. You can use options like Bad Juju for improved super regeneration, but it is not needed and arguably not worth it.

Beyond Light

Exotic Perk: "You gain additional Super energy from Orbs of Power you pick up. While your Super energy is full, picking up an Orb of Power overcharges your Super, causing you to gain a burst of healing when cast and a bonus to your Super damage. At maximum overcharge, you also gain an overshield."
  • Aspects: Optimal Aspect combination is Knock ‘em Down and On Your Mark. Knock ‘em Down is required for optimal damage.
  • Fragments: Ember of Solace, Ember of Torches, Ember of Beams, Ember of Benevolence, and Ember of Empyrean. These are the best five ‘neutral game’ Fragments for Gunslinger as they provide a plethora of benefits without requiring much input.
  • Abilities: Marksman’s or Gambler’s Dodge are both viable options, Knife Trick and Healing Grenade/Solar Grenade are the best options for your Melee and Grenade, respectively.
  • Stats: Maximum Resilience is recommended for improved survivability, and aiming for high Mobility and Discipline is also recommended.
  • Mods: These are the best mods for optimizing your DPS (Orb generation mods such as Harmonic Siphon or Kinetic Siphon are also optimal choices for stacking up Orbs for Star-Eater Scales):
ArtMod NameSlotCostRequirementsEffectsType

Gameplay Loop

This build has a remarkably short gameplay loop, almost completed by passively gathering Orbs of Power. Prioritizing collecting Orbs is the key, so playing safe with a weapon that will generate Orbs is the way to go. Once it is time to deal damage, get a powered melee kill with your Knife Trick. This will create an Elemental Well. Super the boss, collect the Elemental Well, and start dealing damage with your Solar Heavy weapon of choice.

Once DPS has ended or you have killed the target, collect Orbs to get your Super back and have a Solar Elemental Well ready for DPS.

(Pro tip: hold Backwards while casting Blade Barrage so you move away from the target while casting. This gives the knives much better tracking, resulting in more consistent damage).

Harnesser of Flame

Excels In: Mid to Endgame PvE content (Dungeons, Raids, Grandmaster Nightfalls)

Goal of the Build: The goal of the build is to grant you the ability to throw infinite Fusion Grenades and cast infinite Empowering Rifts using Starfire Protocol. P.S: This build was heavily inspired by one of Datto’s excellent build videos.

Mandatory gear: While no weapons are required, DoT (damage over time) options such as Anarchy and Witherhoard are some of the best choices. For armor, you’ll want Starfire Protocol. Fusion Grenades are strong on their own, and Starfire Protocol allows you to throw as many as you want.

Exotic Perk: "Fusion Grenades have an additional charge and recharge from empowered weapon damage. Fusion Grenade kills grant Rift energy."
  • Aspects: Touch of Flame is the only mandatory pick here because of the grenade-centric goal of the build.
  • Fragments: Ember of Ashes is mandatory too. Ember of Solace, Empyrean, and Singeing are the other three we use, but you can get creative here.
  • Abilities: Fusion Grenades and Empowering Rift are musts as they are what make Starfire Protocol work.
  • Stats: Resilience (for damage resistance) and Recovery (for a quicker rift cooldown).
  • Mods: No mods are needed for this build to function. However, these can enhance your build:

Gameplay Loop

The gameplay loop for this build is reliable and straightforward, making it one of the strongest and easiest-to-use builds in the game.

To begin, place your Empowering Rift and simply shoot at enemies with your weapons (this is where Witherhoard and Anarchy come in handy). Doing so will give you Fusion Grenade energy, which you can use to kill ads or DPS a boss. If you get a kill with a Fusion Grenade, your rift will automatically recharge completely, allowing you to start the process all over again.

If you fail to get a kill with your grenade, Insulation and other class ability regeneration mods can help you recover quicker, as mentioned earlier. If you happened to add more mods to this build, your specific gameplay loop might be more complex. However, even if you stick to the basic framework we covered here, you’ll be able to do tons of DPS and kill ads like nothing.

Radiant Timestrider

Excels In: Casual PvE Content (Seasonal Activities, Strikes, etc.)

Goal of the Build: Pair Vex Mythoclast’s great utility with various Solar 3.0 buffs to create a well-rounded build that can handle ads and bosses alike.

Mandatory Gear: The gear you’ll need here is self-explanatory: Vex Mythoclast and Rain of Fire. Not only will Rain of Fire provide you with easy reloads—but it’s also practically made to be used with Vex Mythoclast.

Running a kinetic legendary fusion rifle will elevate this build even more, but it is in no way necessary if you prefer snipers or shotguns.

  • Aspects: Icarus Dash and Heat Rises.
  • Fragments: Ember of Solace, Ember of Empyrean, Ember of Tempering, and Ember of Benevolence
  • Abilities: Healing Grenade is the only ability you’ll want to run for this build.
  • Stats: The generic Recovery/Resilience/Discipline combination works best.
  • Mods: While this build already gives extreme versatility through its Restoration and Radiant buffs, there are a couple of different ways you can go with mods to enhance this build to its limits.

Gameplay Loop

Start by getting a kill with Vex Mythoclast (or a kinetic fusion rifle, if you happen to be running one). Assuming you have the Vex Mythoclast catalyst, you’ll get two damage buffs: Radiant from Rain of Fire and the second damage buff from Vex’s catalyst. These will stack together, allowing you to eliminate majors and minibosses as quickly as standard red bars. These buffs will also continue to stack when you activate Vex Mythoclast’s linear fusion rifle mode, allowing you to even put some good damage into bosses.

On the other side of this build, Healing Grenade will grant you Restoration, allowing for extreme survivability. Having allies walk through your Healing Grenade will also provide you with faster ability regeneration via Ember of Benevolence, and kills with Vex can extend both Radiant and Restoration via Empyrean.

While this build isn’t too flashy, it’s enjoyable and easy to use. As long as you have the two required exotics, you’re automatically set up for success with this one.

Undying Flame

Excels In: Mid to Endgame PvE content (Dungeons, Raids, Grandmaster Nightfalls)

Goal of the Build: This build aims to create an unkillable Titan by harnessing the power of Solar 3.0 and the Loreley Splendor exotic helm.

Mandatory gear: This build is all about the Lorely Splendor exotic helm, and hence this exotic piece is a must-have. Since this build focuses on survivability, there a no mandatory weapons, but solar weapons will see the most benefit due to their synergy with Solar 3.0.

ArmorClassTypeRequirementsSourceReleasedRequiresExotic Perk
  • Aspects: Sol Invictus is the only hard requirement for this build. The secondary aspect is up for debate: Roaring Flames can be more beneficial in endgame content, but Consecration is a fun and solid choice.
  • Fragments: Ember of Solace, Ember of Singeing, Ember of Empyrean, and Ember of Torches are recommended.
  • Abilities: Rally barricade is preferred as it has a shorter cooldown and provides several buffs for you and your team.
  • Stats: High or Max Resilience is the only requirement for this build.
  • Mods: Whilst no mods are needed for this build to work, a simple elemental well setup can improve this build:

Gameplay Loop

This is one of the easiest and most straightforward builds for Titan. It requires little to no setup and functions extremely well in all levels of content.

This build revolves around the Loreley Splendor exotic helmet. Its exotic perk, “Cauterizing Flame,” creates a sunspot upon barricade cast or when you are critically wounded. This allows you to get the Restoration buff which regenerates your health and shields over time. This cannot be stopped by damage and only runs out when the buff itself runs out. Ember of Solace increases this duration.

(Video) The Best Solar Titan Build Is More BROKEN Than Ever Before - Destiny 2

Ember of the Empyrean allows you to maintain this restoration buff by chaining solar weapon kills to refresh the duration. With the above-mentioned Elemental Well build, using Font of Might can also increase the damage of your solar weapon, making it even easier to maintain the restoration buff.

🔷Pro tip:You can find more builds on our dedicated Titan Builds hub.

Your turn
