There are a lot of products that claim to be the best deck resurfacer. One of the first questions I ask myself after seeing a product is, “Do I need to try this?” The cost of finding the right product can add up quickly. After trying a few products, we have compiled a list of our favourite sealers. This should save you some money! Find the ideal product right the first time.
Best deck resurfacers
Rust-Oleum 319591 Deck Resurfacer
The Rust-Oleum deck resurfacer rejuvenates worn and weathered decks. It is a durable coating that works on patio surfaces and composite decks. It is twenty times thicker than standard paint. It works on surface defects and also fills up cracks. It fills up ¼ inch cracks. The deck resurfacer brings back perfection on deformed surfaces.
The package consists of four gallons that cover up to 160 square feet on one coat. Make use of the RockSolid 20X roller cover to apply the product. The surface becomes ready after 24 hours, bringing excellent adhesion between the surface and the chemical. The deck becomes water-resistant and waterproof.
The 20X roller cover is enough for eight gallons. There is no need to sand and strip off the old products using a RockSolid deck cleaner and primer. Liquid Rubber Deck Coating

Olympic 79705/01 Resurfacer
The Olympic Resurfacer is a sealant that restores a worn-out, weathered deck surface. Preparing the deck creates a lasting bond between the surface and the sealant. It consists of acrylic, which makes it a filler of cracks up to ¼ inch. The formula locks on splinters. The waterproofing protection that comes with the product is impressive.
The porosity and deformation that come with the surface are not catered for. The surface does not fade after the application and works on both vertical and horizontal surfaces. The formula is sturdy and stable. The product’s satisfaction comes with coverage of up to 75 square feet in two coats from one gallon.
It takes six hours for the coat to dry before applying a second coat. For a safe cure, wait for 48 hours before foot traffic and 72 hours before you start moving furniture on top of the surface. Check your temperature, humidity, and air movement before the process.
PC-Woody Wood Repair Epoxy Paste
The wood paste gives you permanent deck repairs that do not shrink. It fills holes on the deck and allows you to easily sand, drill, paint, and stain. An excellent bond between the paste and the surface is created. It cures in 12-24 hours.
Prepare the surface before application. The wood surface is smooth, and neither cracks nor pops after the application. It prevents rot damage, and equal mixing of contents is required. For effective staining, choose stain colors that have darker pigments.
It does not allow decks to be affected by water and salt. The application temperature ranges from 35 to 115 degrees F. Do not mix the contents in smaller ratios because the chances of an off-ratio mix are high. The UV elements protect the surface from sunlight. Testing a small area when unsure about the mixture is the proper way.
KILZ Exterior Paint
The paint gives you coverage and protection against weather elements. It also enhances the beauty of the deck. The formula is crack and peel-resistant. The formula comes in two types. That is the oil and the water-based. They both bring longevity and versatility.
The adhesion is exceptional. Oil-based paint is convenient for vertical surfaces since it does not spread quickly and water-based is for horizontal surfaces. The wood paint takes 2 to 3 hours to be sure.
For re-coating, give the surface a minimum of six hours. On a porous surface, the gallon covers up to 200 square feet, and 500 square feet on non-porous surfaces. Back Brushing or back-rolling is required when coating your surface.
